Saliva Drug Test
On February 28, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed a bill that would allow for saliva tests to be used for drug testing in the construction industry. Senator Clayton Hee described the test as "the least-invasive and least humiliating." Saliva tests is an alternative approach that can be considered for Senate Bill 1139, which calls for random drug testing of public school employees and teachers.
"Drug-test bill prefers saliva over urine jar," Honolulu Star-Bulletin, February 25, 2007.
